Kailey Yim
Founder & Lead Trainer
Kailey is an accredited pet trainer and a consummate professional, who adores animals and is known for being patient and caring. As a professional trainer, Kailey has a magic touch in molding pets' behavior by building positive experiences and promoting a strong relationship between human and pet.

History

Kailey originally grew up in Southern California. She was heavily interested in animals at a young age and had a goal of becoming a veterinarian. She started pet sitting, dog walking, and dog training neighborhood dogs during her youth. Kailey valued how all the pets she worked with had different personalities. It helped her understand that trust and respect is what creates a strong relationship between the owner and the pet. Kailey moved to San Luis Obispo in 2018 to attend California Polytechnic State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Animal Science degree. During her time in San Luis Obispo, Kailey worked as an Alzheimer’s and Dementia in-home caregiver which gave her so much appreciation for patience and valuing the care you give and receive by others.

Kailey found that she missed working with animals outside of school. She missed discussing canine communication and development. In 2020, she made the deep plunge in adopting an adult Pitbull mix from the shelter. This dog was a frequent shelter-flyer as he was returned multiple times for behavioral issues. She found that this new friend would be the best decision and challenge that a young girl could take on. Chapo, the Pitbull mix, has been by Kailey's side for the past four years and has been through thick and thin in their training journey. Kailey and Chapo worked with a multitude of different trainers to best provide Chapo with living a new and better life. Kailey had a hard time finding a training method that would suit their lifestyle the best. She realized the knowledge that she carried was not enough and decided to enroll in Animal Behavior College to continue learning. She transitioned to working as a kennel technician part-time at a family-owned boarding and daycare facility which helped carry her interest in canine behavior. Kailey's passion for animal care and communication kept growing and she landed herself to be a veterinary assistant at a VCA. Learning that there is still a bridge between animal health and behavior, Kailey voluntarily works at the local shelter to enrich/train shelter dogs during her free time. She continues to give back to the community and fosters pets and helps prepare them for adoption to their forever homes.
